About Janus

Janus is a private German company founded by five traders and programmers from Germany, Canada and Italy with diverse areas of expertise and over 15 years of experience trading financial markets.

Janus is a well known name among forex traders and investors across many private and public forums.

Several proprietary trading systems originally created in TradeStation 2000i have been redesigned by Janus to run on the MetaTrader 4 platform.

Since early 2010, Janus has developed several proprietary trading systems that are currently used in various managed accounts:

1.  System name: LOT

“London Opening Trade” (or “European Opening Trade”) is enters trades between 06:00 and 08:00 CET and is a well-known strategy to capture the positioning of the traders in London and Frankfurt early in the trading session. This strategy is used in the GBPUSD, EURUSD and GBPJPY currency pairs, with up to three trades opened in each pair per day at staggered times. Each trade has a reward-to-risk ratio greater than 1, with a hard stop loss but an ATR-based profit target. Each trade risks up to 1% of the account. This strategy is not used from early December until mid-January each year. The LOT strategy is not spread-sensitive, and unlike many, is not negatively affected by news.

2.  System name: iBO

iBO monitors price action for momentum- and volatility-driven high/low breakouts during the full trading session. It enters trades based on uncorrelated setups across timeframes ranging from the 15-minute to the 4-hour. The strategy aims for either a strong trend continuation or just a few pips, depending on the timeframe. iBO primarily places trades in the EURUSD currency pair, but USDCHF and EURCAD are also traded. Each trade has a reward-to-risk ratio greater than 2, with stop losses set around 25-30 pips and profitable trades averaging 70-80 pips. iBO is not spread-sensitive and big news events are generally favorable to this strategy.

3.  System name: Daily High/Low Breakout

This strategy looks for price-based high/low breakouts. It is a simple strategy based only on price, with a little twist. It trades the EURUSD pair on the 1-hour and 4-hour timeframes.

4.  System name: iTrend

iTrend is a trend continuation strategy based primarily on moving averages, with a few other indicators for confirmation. It aims to capture a correction in a prevailing trend as the entry point to position itself for a continuation of the previous trend. iTrend trades the EURUSD, USDCHF and AUDUSD currency pairs. This strategy has a high win rate and is sensitive to neither spread nor execution.

5.  Strategy name: iFollow

Short trend reversals often fade quickly if associated with a certain candlestick pattern. The iFollow strategy looks for false reversals in the EURUSD and GBPUSD currency pairs and occasionally trades the USDCHF and USDJPY pairs as well.

6.  Strategy name: iJanus

iJanus is a scalping strategy that trades during the "gap" session in the EURUSD, USDCHF, EURGBP and USDCAD currency pairs. It watches for channel-based price movement and employs several indicators for confirmation, targeting a few quick pips with each trade.
